There must be a thousand US garage sounding house tracks out there. You know the type - stripped back vocal house music with strong keyboard grooves. And yet I keep finding tracks which take me by complete surprise. Nina's track features everything I want in house music - a good groove, driving beats and an hypnotic bassline. Minimal production, no unnecessary cluttered sounds. Perfect dance floor material.

From Rivera's Groove Box #221: RIP Productions - Pick Me Up (Licenced Mix)
What a nice UK garage house anthem! The vocal sample is from Mood II Swing 'Closer' (featuring Carol Sylvan). I like the beat the best in house tracks like this, they're so tight and the drums just keep on doing their shuffle. This is one of those tracks which I kept hearing at parties, and I didn't knew which version it was, because the line 'pick me up' has been used in many other house tracks. So I decided to bum the DJ and ask for the track ID! That's why I go to parties after all - to listen new music. C'mon DJ - surprise me, blow me away with your track selection, make me wonder 'what is that jam?'.
